Your humble sherpa in your quest to find fun, safe video games for your young kids.
I am a producer at EA Salt Lake, working on kid-friendly games (woo-hoo!), as well as a columnist for whattheyplay.com, the videogame guide for parents. Before that, I... 1) worked on not-so-kid-friendly games at EA Chicago 2) was a columnist for the AOL Games - GameDaily Family Gaming Guide, and 3) taught a college course on the history of the video game industry. Playing video games with my 2 young kids is a great way to connect with them. The key, of course, is to find games that are both fun and age-appropriate, which isn't always easy. The whole point of GameFam is to help parents with this critically-important task. Since I'm doing it anyway for my kids, I figured that parents of young kids might enjoy not having to add to their already-too-long To Do Lists.

im glad i found ur site. it has really been helpful. Me and my 3 year old son are avid katamari damacy gamers. I'm venturing out into collecting games that have the similar feel, fun and simplicity to it. Your blog has open doors for me to try out other child friendly games. sorry i cldnt find ur email so i posted Thanks!

Hey cinecow. Thanks for stopping by. I have some other games that my kids and I enjoyed on the right sidebar, though some of them will be too tough for a 3 year old. But of course, I played a lot of games while my kids watched for a couple years, before they had the skill and patience to try it themselves.
Another great resource for parents is GamerDad (http://www.gamerdad.com/), where they have a staff of gaming parents who review games. There's also a message board (http://www.gamerdad.com/phpBB2/), so if you have any questions, you can get several helpful responses. Highly recommended for parents.
