We Heart Co-Op Mode

Although I had today circled on my calendar since E3, I actually forgot about why until I saw Robin's post this morning.

We Love Katamari is Keita Takahashi's follow-up to 2004's insanely popular and delightfully original Katamari Damacy. Looks like it'll be out-freakin'-standing! And with the new co-op mode, it even teaches teamwork. *dreamy sigh* Is there anything this game can't do?

If I get the go-ahead from upper management (i.e. the kids) to interrupt our Mario cavalcade, I may have to bump this sucker up to the top of my GameFly wish list.

Happy Happy! Joy! Joy!

  • Last night we went to EB and traded old games in. Our #1 priority? We <3 Katamari. Heck, we traded so much in we had enough credit to get the new Hulk game and Hello Kitty Roller Rescue, too. Unfortunately, we didn't actually play it last night.

Oh, and for reference, my son loves Burnout: Revenge. Young boys and crashing cars...could there be a better combination?

  • Did you get the Burnout Revenge demo for free at Best Buy a while back?

I can't bring myself to trade in anything to EB. 10 cents on the dollar doesn't get it done for me. @%#&*!

How's the Hulk game? The reviews have been solid.

  • I look at it as found money. If I didn't, I'd never get rid of any games...and if we haven't played 'em in over a year, it better be a great one for us to keep it.

We Love Katamai shows that, if the crack the designers was good last time, they found a pure vein this time. Wow. Great stuff, with some new types of missions (which I won't spoil).

The Hulk game is quite good (although it gets a T for Teen due to some mild language and overall destruction). The Hulk doesn't just smash things, he smash things GOOD. PUNY HUMAN! I haven't played Spiderman 2, but I gather it's the same level of freedom. The Hulk is very mobile, running up buildings and jumping huge distances. I've played a couple of missions, and it's pretty satisfying to pick up a car, snap in half and make gauntlets out of it.

Best moment? Knocking down a burger joint's sign and grabbing the giant metal cheeseburger to smash a police car. :)
